Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology


Charles A. OBASEKI
Chairman of Council

Mr. Charles A. OBASEKI hails from Benin-City Edo State. He was trained as a Science Laboratory Technologist with specialization in Geology at the prestigious University of Ibadan, Ibadan. He later obtained his Post Graduate education from Technical University, Berlin, Germany. Mr. Obaseki is a Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology.


He first served in the Council of the Institute from 2014 – 2015. He was again elected into the present Council where he unanimously emerged as the Chairman of Council on August 16, 2018. Mr. Obaseki has served in several committees of the Institute and contributed enormously to the advancement of Science Laboratory Technology Profession in Nigeria.


Mr. Charles Obaseki presently works at Geology Department, University of Ilorin.

Yemi Hezekiah GBADEGESIN

Yemi Hezekiah Gbadegesin hails from Otu, Itesiwaju LGA of Oyo State and married with Children.  He attended Olabisi Onabanjo University between 2006 and 2009; Lagos State University Ojoo Lagos 2001; The Polytechnic Ibadan, Ibadan  1986-1992 and Baptist Grammar School, Out 1980-1985. He has M.Sc. Medical Microbiology, PGD Medical Microbiology, HND Microbiology, OND SLT, and Fellow NISLT.

He was bestowed with Presidential NYSC Award in 1992/93 Service Year when he served meritoriously at School of Nursing Ikot Ekpene Akwa Ibom State. He was an employee of Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja where he rose to level of Chief Laboratory Scientist before appointed as an Assistant Registrar/Director Education Training and Inspectorate in January 2015. He has attended several international and local seminars and conferences.

Before his appointment, his contribution  as a professional member to Institute include  Consultant for the Development of Science Laboratory Policy and as  a Resource Person Science Laboratory Technology Conferences and Seminar/ Short term training programmes.

He has been appointed as the DG/Registrar of the Institute by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology effective from July 1st, 2017.

Peter ‘Rogba Adefisoye OLUWAFISOYE
Assistant Registrar/Director, Education, Training and Inspectorate

Peter ‘Rogba Adefisoye OLUWAFISOYE, a Radiation Health Physicist, Laboratory Research Scientist, Coach, Human Resource Manager and Educational Technologist hails from Ile-Ife, Ife Central Local Government, Osun State. He holds a Diploma in Physical and Health Education from Obafemi Awolowo University, a National Diploma in Electrical Electronics Engineering from the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Higher National Diploma Science Laboratory Technology SLT (Physics with Electronics technique) from Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT), Final Diploma in SLT from University of Ibadan (UI), B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics with Electronics from Olabisi Onabanjo University OOU, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from UI, a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Master of Business Administration (MBA, Human Resource Management) from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso and Masters Degree in Health and Radiation Physics from OOU. He became a Fellow of NISLT in 2009 and a Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration in 2014.

Peter Oluwafisoye, has over two decades University working experience covering various teaching and research areas including Instrumentation, Solar, Radionuclide, Dosimetry and Electronics.  He started his University career at the Physics Department University of Ibadan on 6th November 1998 till 31st December 2007 when he joined Osun State University at inception and assumed duty on 1st January 2008; he rose to the level of Chief Scientist in 2015.  He was the head of Radiation monitoring team to numerous X-ray centres and users of radioactive sources in Nigeria.  He had the working knowledge of the National Calibration Laboratory located at the defunct Federal Radiation Protection Service now Nigerian Institute of Radiation Protection and Research (NIRPR).  He served in many capacities within and outside the University system such as: Sports Secretary UNIOSUN 2009-2014 and was instrumental to the registration of UNIOSUN with Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) in 2010 and West African University Games (WAUG) in 2013, he also served as the Assistant Coordinator/Deputy Director, Students’ Work Experience Scheme (UNIOSUN SIWES, UNIT), from 2009 to 2015 and Acting Director, Directorate of Sports at Osun State University from 2017 until his new appointment as the Director, Education, Training and Inspectorate of the NISLT.  He had attended many scientific meetings and training workshops within and outside Nigeria among which is the International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA workshop on Nuclear Instrumentation.  He was a Council member of Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) and Council member Nigerian University Staff Sports Association (NUSSA).  He has published more than twenty (20) articles in both local and International Journals.


He is married and blessed with Children.

Pius Patrick IKOKOH
Assistant Registrar/Director, Planning, Research and Development

Pius Patrick IKOKOH hails from Iviari-Otaokwi, Agenebode in Estako East Local Government of Edo state. He holds Intermediate and final Diploma in Laboratory Technology, University of Ibadan; PGD and M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry from  Nasarawa State University, Keffi. He is a fellow of the Institute (FNISLT).

He has varied overseas training on uses and maintenance of GC-MS, FTIR UV/VIS, HPLC and X-ray diffractometer. He has worked with the Sheda Science & Technology Complex, (SHESTCO) since 1998 and rose through the ranks to become Chief Technologist in the Chemistry Advanced Research Center.

He has to his credit twenty-four (24) published articles in both national and international journals of repute. His research forte is in the area of pure and applied chemistry and has contributed very significantly to the knowledge in this area. He is the current ASLTON Chairman FCT, Abuja.

He was appointed, Director Planning Research and Development and Laboratory Services in April 2019

He is married with children.
