Functions
- Manages and coordinates all the resources and activities of the Departments at the Secretariat and Zonal offices of the Institute through out the country
- Acts as Chief Accounting Officer of the Institute
- Acts as Secretary to Council
- Maintains Register of members
- Sets strategic goals and subsidiary objectives of the Institute
- Implements Council decisions, directives and mandates of the Institute

Functions
- Designs and reviews from time to time curriculum in science laboratory technology used in tertiary institutions
- Screens and registers members of the Institute
- Organises trainings for members of the Institute and science teachers on laboratory procedures
- Conducts professional examinations and registers candidates for membership of the Institute
- Inspects Science Laboratories in schools, tertiary institutions, industries and research institutes
v. LABORATORY SERVICES

Functions
- Oversees the Multi-purpose science laboratory
- Oversees laboratory services of the institute
3. ZONAL OFFICES
Functions
- Assist the Secretariat in the execution of the policies and activities of the Institute at the states and local areas
- Organise training workshops, seminars, conferences and exhibitions in areas relating to the mandate of the Institute
- Assisting states and local governments to install and maintain laboratory equipment in schools
