The Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) successfully hosted the 2025 Second Quarter Stakeholders Meeting of the Ministerial SERVICOM Committee (MSC) under the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology (FMIST). The event drew participants from various MDAs, Regulatory Agencies, and SERVICOM units under the Ministry.

Delivering his goodwill address, Dr. Peter Adefisoye Oluwafisoye, the Overseeing Director and Director of Education, Training and Inspectorate at NISLT, welcomed participants and reaffirmed the Institute’s unwavering commitment to excellence in public service delivery. He emphasized the role of SERVICOM not just as a reform tool but as a national ethos grounded in transparency, timeliness, equity, and accountability. Dr. Oluwafisoye highlighted the strategic reforms already implemented at NISLT to align with the SERVICOM Charter, including: adoption of a revised operational Service Charter, expanded training and sensitization on service standards, strengthened complaint and feedback mechanisms and upgrades in laboratory accreditation, professional certification, and client interfaces. He acknowledged the leadership of the Honourable Minister, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, and the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Esuabana Nko-Asanye, for approving NISLT as host and for their tireless support of service delivery reforms within the Ministry. Dr. Oluwafisoye also paid tribute to past leaders of the Institute and praised staff for their unwavering support since his assumption of office.

The meeting featured a facilities inspection led by Mrs. Emma D. Ekpo, Deputy Director, Reforms Coordination, Service Improvement and Innovation (FMIST), who commended the Institute for maintaining high service standards. She lauded Dr. Oluwafisoye’s leadership for effectively coordinating staff and resources, describing the inspection team’s findings as highly impressive. Also present at the high-level meeting were; Mrs. Justina Ojukwu, Nodal Officer, SERVICOM Unit FMIST, Mr. Sesugh Durub, Representative of the National Coordinator, SERVICOM, Mr. Lawrence Itsuokor, SERVICOM Information Technology Officer and Mr. Mohammed Sani Ladan, SERVICOM Official. All expressed satisfaction with NISLT’s proactive implementation of SERVICOM ideals and praised the Institute’s strategic reforms and stakeholder engagement.

During the event, Mr. Morris, NISLT SERVICOM Focal Officer, received an award for outstanding service, while Dr. Oluwafisoye was decorated by the National SERVICOM Office in recognition of his exemplary leadership.
