The Management of the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) is pleased to announce the schedule for the April 2026 Diet of the Mandatory Professional Examination (MPE).

This examination is open to graduates (external candidates) and students (internal candidates) of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) from Universities and Polytechnics. MPE is a pre-requisite for registration as an Associate Member of the Institute.

Examination Details

The April 2026 Diet will include:

• Module I
• Resit I
• Module II
• Resit II

Note: Only candidates who passed the Module I examination will be eligible to register for the Module II examination.

Registration Process for New Candidates

External Candidates:

• Begin your registration here.
• Fill out the form and select your qualification
• Make the necessary payment via any of the channels available
• Go to: https://nislt.gov.ng/mpeeligibilitycontinue.php and enter your reference number to access the MPE form

• Then, complete the form online, attach all the required documents, and upload a passport photograph on a white background.

• Candidates are required to attach the following credentials in PDF: SSCE certificate or statement of result downloaded from the examination body website, BSc or HND certificate, ND certificate for Polytechnic graduates, evidence of change of name if applicable
• Ensure to submit the form
• Upon approval, the candidate will receive login credentials (Examination No and Password). 
• After registration, the candidate can login to the portal to register for Module I examination as soon as it is scheduled.
• Candidates registering for Module 2, Resit 1 or Resit 2 DO NOT need to fill form again. They will be required to login to their portal and register for the examination as soon as it is scheduled.

Internal Candidates:

• Students in 400L & 500L (Universities) or HND I & HND II (Polytechnics) should register through their respective Deans or Heads of Department (HODs).
• Kindly note that candidates running conversion programmes will be required to upload their admission letters

Examination Schedule

• April 2026 Diet: 22nd & 23rd April, 2026
• Examinations will take place at various centers across the country.
